Welcome to St. Collen's Parish Church
A welcome from the Vicar
Whether you are passing by as a tourist, a walking group, a local, a regular worshipper or as someone who is not quite sure what to believe, you are very welcome to our church. Please come exactly as you are.
St Collen’s belongs to a group of three churches in the Mission Area of Valle Crucis. As a group of churches, we are driven by the conviction that God loves every human being and together we try our best to share this love in and around our community.
Situated in the heart of this beautiful town which hosts the International Musical Eisteddfod, St Collen’s continues to adapt to the needs of the community it serves as a site for meeting, celebration, music and culture, whilst remaining true to its foundation as a place of worship and prayer.
I hope that you find peace and serentiy and a sense of the presence of God whom this place has served for 1300 years.
The UK is experiencing a public health emergency as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Places of worship play an important role in providing spiritual leadership and in bringing communities together. However, their communal nature also makes them places that are vulnerable to the spread of coronavirus. Also, many of our members are elderly or in the ‘at risk’ category.
As the UK emerged from the first lockdown a very difficult decision was made with regard to the pattern of worship in our group of four churches. This decision was based on the Welsh Government Guidelines, the statement from the House of Bishops and conversations with other leaders in the Valle Crucis Mission Area. This situation has been reviewed in line with the updates from the Welsh Government and Church in Wales.
